Meet the team!

Eve Allen:  One of the founder members of DKFC with a passion to see children come to know Jesus.   She has a real desire to encourage and equip those who work with children in our churches.  She has  worked in children's ministry since 1975 and was employed by Derby City Church as their children's worker for 16 years until her retirement in 2012.

Discovery Squad Assemblies team:

Janet Kunica: Leads the team.  She is on the children's team at All Nations for Christ Church.

Miriam Pickard:  Been associated with DKFC for a number of years.  Enjoys the challenge of presenting Bible Stories and life-values to the thousands of children in our Derby Schools.  She worships at St Mary's church Chaddesden.

Tim Pawson:  Works with Derby City Mission but is a member of the Discovery Squad.  He runs breakfast, lunch and afterschool clubs as well as taking assemblies.  Tim has an M.A in Mission from the University of Wales.  He worships at New Life Christian Center, Normanton.

         Martyn Pickard:  Has been a part of the team since his retirement in 2018.  Is married to Miriam and worships at St Mary's church, Chaddesden.

Trustees and other workers:

Greg Hall (Chairman of Trustees): Worked 25 years as a designer in the transport industry before becoming a full-time Christian Worker in 1997.  He gained an M.A. in Mission in 2005, and was Senior Leader of Emmanuel Community Church from 2007 until 2016.  He has for many years been passionate about promoting both Children and Youth work. 

Helen Munday (Vice Chair):  Helen teaches in a Derby School and helps run the children's work at Derby City Church.  She has been in children's work for more than 30 years where she is passionate about seeing children grow in their faith and in the gifts of the Holy Spirit. Helen has also been a Street Pastor. 

Margaret Ita:  Went to Nigeria as a Missionary teacher in 1962 and spent 45 years there, serving as school principle for over 30 years.  Upon the passing of her husband in 2012, she returned to Derby where she remains passionate about children's work whilst continuing support for the work in Nigeria.  She is a member of New Life Christian Center, Derby.
